Making sure you are prepared for the Realtimeboard.com to Miro.com migration
By now you’ve probably seen the exciting news that RealtimeBoard has a new brand and a new name, Miro!
Over the next few weeks, we’ll be migrating our domains from RealtimeBoard.com to Miro.com. We have prepared this FAQ and will keep it updated. If any of your questions are not answered below, or you need a little extra help, please don’t hesitate to contact our support team.
When are you migrating to Miro.com?
Over the next few weeks, we’ll be migrating our domains, both for our website and for the app. We’ll be updating this page and notifying you in-app ahead of the app domain migration date.
Will I need to update my app?
Yes. When the Realtimeboard.com app migrates to Miro.com, smartphone, tablet, desktop & UWP app users need to update their apps. For those of you with an iOS or Android app, there will be a force update splash screen when we move to the new domain. Desktop & UWP users will be redirected to the landing page with a notice to update your app.
Will I need to make any changes to my integrations?
Yes. Here are more details:
For Jira Cards integration: if your Jira admin set up the webhook manually, then they will need to do it again for the new domain - here is how.
For Rally integration: a webhook for the Rally integration can be created only automatically, there’s no need to change it on your end.
If I whitelisted realtimeboard.com, will I need to change my firewall settings?
Yes. For a seamless experience please whitelist our new domain Miro.com (along with Realtimeboard.com). Also, any firewall rules you have in place for Realtimeboard.com, need to be applied to Miro.com when the domain is migrated. We’ll keep you updated on the progress to apply all necessary changes on time. Here is an article with more information on the mailers you need to whitelist.
Will I need to update my SSO settings?
Yes, you will want to update your SSO settings after the application is moved to Miro.com. We’ll let you know once we’re there and guide you what settings to update. The main thing to do is to change the launch URL to https://miro.com/sso/saml within a few weeks after we release the application on the new Miro.com domain. There is no strict deadline for these changes to be made because we will support both domains for some time.
Will I need to update my bookmarks to Realtimeboard.com pages and boards?
You may, but not necessarily :) We will have redirects in place from Realtimeboard.com to Miro.com, so your original bookmarks will be redirect to the new equivalent URL.
What will the rebranding to Miro.com mean for your roadmap?
We are continuously developing our product to provide you with the best possible solution to enable you to build the next big things. If anything, the rebranding will allow us to provide an even better product supporting a wider range of use cases, not being limited to the ‘Board’.
